Recall 2003234: model years 2002, 2003
What's wrong: On certain infant child restraints, the UAS (Universal Anchorage System) harness was misrouted. The adjuster for the UAS harness was inadvertently placed on the child's left side of the convenience base. In this orientation, the retainer strap used to tie the UAS to the base potentially interferes with the adjuster, possibly limiting the ability of the installer to take up slack and tighten the base adequately. Correction: Evenflo will send instructions to registered owners advising them how to identify misrouted UAS harnesses and how to easily change the UAS harness adjuster to the opposite side of the convenience base.
How do I know if my Evenflo 578 COMFORT DIMENSIONS PREMIER is affected?
Check the label on the side, back or bottom of the seat for the model number and date of manufacture, and compare them with the model years and dates in the official notice.
Is the fix free?
Recall remedies are free from the maker. The official notice lists how to get it, and Recallify can contact the maker for you.
