Is your car seat recalled?
Pick your seat's brand and model. We check it against every car seat recall Transport Canada has on record, and show you the official notice and the free fix.
The brand, model name and date of manufacture are on a label on the side, back or bottom of the seat.
Information only, from Transport Canada's public recall records. Always confirm with the official notice or the maker. Read the disclaimer.
How to read your label
- Model name and number: printed on the label, for example "Symphony" and "34611709C".
- Date of manufacture: also on the label. Recalls usually cover seats made in certain years or months.
- Expiry date: most seats have a "do not use after" date on the label or moulded into the shell.
- Register your seat with the maker, so they can tell you directly if it's ever recalled.
Disclaimer
This check is for information only. It isn't safety advice, a safety rating or an inspection, and "no recall found" doesn't mean a seat is safe.
Results come from Transport Canada recalls, published through the Government of Canada's Recalls and Safety Alerts open data, last checked . We copy that public information as published. It may be incomplete, out of date, or not yet show a new recall, and a recall can cover only some years or production dates of a model.
Always confirm with the official notice, the seat's label and manual, or the maker before deciding anything about your child's car seat. Follow the maker's instructions, including after any crash. For hands-on help, a certified child passenger safety technician can check your seat.
