Recall 2008459: model year -9999
What's wrong: Various child car seats including, but not restricted to, Evenflo, Cosco, Eddie Bauer, Safety 1st, and Graco, have been inadvertently imported into the country, although originally meant for sale in the United States. These units have not been dynamically tested to the Canadian requirements and therefore do not bear the National Safety Mark (circular label with a maple leaf in the centre) that indicates compliance with applicable Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The performance of these units in a crash is therefore unknown and may lead to occupant injury or death. It is recommended that the owners of these units contact the importer/retailer - Liquidation World Inc - and return the units for a full refund.
How do I know if my Cosco COSCO is affected?
Check the label on the side, back or bottom of the seat for the model number and date of manufacture, and compare them with the model years and dates in the official notice.
Is the fix free?
Recall remedies are free from the maker. The official notice lists how to get it, and Recallify can contact the maker for you.
